Activity 2023
World Leprosy Day was observed on January 30, 2023, with the theme: “Act Now, End Leprosy.” A meeting was held, chaired by Respected Principal Dr. Sumita Hagjer, along with the Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent, and faculties from the Departments of Medicine, Psychiatry, ENT, Surgery, and Pediatrics. The event saw participation from students, interns, residents, patients, and attendants. Discussions focused on spreading awareness about the course and outcomes of the disease, addressing stigmas, and providing solutions. To encourage active participation among doctors and create a greater impact, a special write-up competition was organized for the Extern batch, with enthusiastic participation and prize distribution.
The Department of Pathology, DMCH, organized a Midterm CME on “Best Practices in Patient Care” on March 24, 2023.
Skin Health Day was observed by the Department of Dermatology on April 6, 2023, focusing on public awareness regarding skin hygiene.
The “Minilab Sterilization Camp” was conducted by Dr. Long Teron and Dr. Ram Chandra Rongphar from May 29 to June 23, 2023, in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, DMCH.
A Midterm CME, under the Indian Psychiatric Society, Assam State Branch, was conducted by the faculties of Psychiatry, DMCH, Diphu, on June 10, 2023.
World Vitiligo Day was observed on June 25, 2023, with the theme: “Vitiligo: Looking into the Future.” The Department of Dermatology organized a special awareness camp aimed at debunking myths related to vitiligo. Leaflets containing truths and myths about vitiligo were distributed to the public, and free samples were provided to patients.
A one-day Sensitization Workshop on University Examination and Evaluation was organized by MEU, DMCH, on August 24, 2023.
A two-day training program for Laboratory Technicians of DPHL (under IDSP), Karbi Anglong, was conducted by the Department of Microbiology in collaboration with IDSP, Karbi Anglong, on October 11 and 12, 2023.
The BCME program, under the Regional Center of NMC, was held at DMCH, MEU, from November 2 to November 4, 2023.
