Diphu Medical College and Hospital began operations on November 25, 2019. Since its inception, the Department of Community Medicine has been functional, comprising nine teaching staff and five supporting staff.

Community Medicine is a branch of medicine that focuses on health promotion and disease prevention through community participation and professional management skills. The department is dedicated to teaching, research, and community welfare services.
