About

The Department of Forensic Medicine, DMCH, was established in 2019. Since its inception, the department has been dedicated to fulfilling the medico-legal requirements of the region.

Research Activities
Services
  1. Quality Medico-legal Services – Clinical Forensic Medical/MLC/Sexual Assault/Post-mortem Examinations.
  2. Quality Teaching – MBBS, MD, and PhD courses.
  3. Expert Opinion – Providing evidence and expert opinions in the Court of Law.
  4. Research – Conducting research at National and International levels.
  5. Innovative Teaching Methods – Developing new teaching modules in Forensic Medicine.
  6. Referral Centre – Serving as a referral center for other medico-legal facilities.
  7. Court & Government Cases – Handling cases referred by the Honourable Court, Administration, Police, or other Government Agencies.
  8. Medical Boards – Conducting Inter/Intra Departmental medical boards on request from Police, Court, or Administration.
  9. Post-Mortem Examinations – A total of 50 post-mortem examinations conducted since the department's inception.
  10. Age Determination Cases – A total of 60 age determination assessments conducted for assault cases.
