About

The Department of Psychiatry at DMCH was established on 27th November 2019, along with other clinical departments. The introduction of Integrated Psychiatric Services was a long-awaited necessity for the people of Karbi Anglong and the adjoining districts of Assam.

Initially, the department began with only OPD services, but IPD services were soon introduced. Despite staff shortages, the department continues to function independently, providing daily OPD and IPD services, along with emergency services as needed.

The department encourages the public to take full advantage of the mental health services available at DMCH.
